Generates a wide-range of overdriven fuzz and distortions. Rich, thick, clipped, yet surprisingly chord-friendly.
Accepts 9 - 18v, with Voltage knob to reduce voltage and relax gain and response.
FuzzHugger Algal Bloom Modified (Graphic, no added finish)
• Highs: Smooths to dampens brightness and clipping activity in the highs.
• Thick: Increases overall gain, thickness. (Scratches when adjusted.*)
• Push: Boosts the main stage, increasing drive, brightness (and noise!), up to a sizzly, splattery overfuzz. More extreme with other knobs also cranked; on lower-gain settings, dials in a faster response and brighter attack. (Push is a dirty boost and will increase noise.)
• Power: Full-voltage when right—9v (or up to 18v)—and starved when full-left around 3v (or 6v), relaxing gain, tightness, and response. (*)
• Head: Reduces clipping and raises headroom to the right, shifting to a hot yet clear tone with more clarity, definition, and fundamental guitar tone. Higher headroom is also excellent for lower tunings & bass.
• Level: Volume.
— Voltage-affecting controls (Thick, Power) scratch when adjusted, and may create a split-second lag or whooshing sound, as the components adjust to the voltage change.
— The Algal Bloom’s controls interact with each other and Voltage-altering controls especially can affect the range or character of other controls.• 3.7 x 4.7 aluminum enclosure
• Top-mounted jacks
• Requires 9v - 18v DC, center-negative adapter (not included). No batteries.
• Endless, transferrable warranty, free parts and labor on repairs.
