The Sidewinder is a very unique and versatile effect unlike any other pedal on the market today. It is a
stereo switching effect that can be used in many different ways, with 2 inputs and 2 outputs that can
be used in different configurations.

One way to use this effect is to have 1 input and 2 outputs going to 2 amps. When the effect is
engaged your input will alternate between the 2 different outputs, kind of like a stereo tremolo or
panning effect. This is a great way to use 2 amps for a very psychedelic stereo effect! When the effect
is bypassed you can choose to either have your signal go to both amps, or just one.

Another way to use the Sidewinder is with 2 inputs and 2 outputs. This setup will switch each input
between each output alternately. So when input 1 is switched to output 1, then input 2 will be
connected to output 2. Next the effect will switch input 1 to output 2, while input 2 is connected to
output 1, and so on, back and forth until the effect is bypassed. Once again, this setup could be used
in different ways. One example would be to have 2 guitarists set up on opposite sides of the stage,
each with their own amp. Each guitarist would run their signal into the Sidewinder and when the effect
is engaged Guitarist 1's signal will switch to amp 2 and guitarist 2's signal will switch to amp 1 and
back and forth until the effect is bypassed. When the effect is bypassed guitarist 1's signal will be
back on amp 1 and guitarist 2's signal will be back on amp 2. Again this is a very psychedelic effect
for any live performance or studio recording.

A third way to use the Sidewinder is with 2 inputs and 1 output. This will allow to switch a secondary
signal into your amp while silencing your original signal. Imagine a tremolo, but instead of silence the
gap in your sound would be filled with a secondary signal such as a theremin or oscillator.

Yet another way to use the Sidewinder is with 1 primary input and output. The second input/output set
would be used as an effects loop. When the effect is engaged your signal will alternate between
unaffected and going through the effects loop. Imagine turning a whole string of effects on and off
alternately!

As you can see there are many different ways to use this effect.

The Sidewinder has 2 inputs and 2 outputs, an on/off LED, true-bypass footswitch, a speed knob,
photocell, and 2 toggle switches. The first toggle switch selects the type of bypass. When the effect is
bypassed you can either have both inputs going to both outputs, or have input 1 connect to output 1
and input 2 connect to output 2. The second toggle switch selects whether the speed of the effect is
controlled by the knob or the photocell. When using the photocell you can waive your foot over it to
change the speed of the effect in real time. The effect can be powered by either a 9V battery (not
included) or a standard 9V power adapter (not included).

Clips!
The first 2 sound clips below use 1 input and
2 outputs to 2 different amps. The 3Xfx V2
(oscillating fuzz) was also used in the first 2
recordings. In the second recording the
speed is controlled by the photocell and
changed in real time. The 3rd sound clip
uses 2 inputs and 2 outputs, a 3Xfx
photo-theremin and V2 oscillator switching
between 2 different amps. All the clips were
recorded in stereo and should be listened to
in stereo for the full effect.
